If you happen to have the same thoughts and decide to tell me the following..

Good things comes to those who procastinate wait...

With only roughly 18000 tickets sold thus far, the organisers are offering

1) 10000 tickets at 1/2 the $60 price tag
2) an additional of 3000 student tickets priced at $15 each

Maybe i should go watch Singapore vs the Samba boys?

Hmmm...Maybe they will release the rest of the tickets at a more appropriate price of $20 just before the match.

I think i should just wait for the TV broadcast.

Im getting unfit...

and the smokers in my office are getting fitter.
WHY?
My big big big boss sanction a 'law' that requires the smokers to walk about 400m to this particular smoking spot to have their puff about a month back.
Heres the maths for the uninitiated..

Trip to Smoking spot - 400m
Trip back to Office - 400m
Total - 800m

A heavy smoker who smokes 10 cigarettes a day in office previously would most prob smoke about 5 nowadays..
this is a whopping 4km of walking everyday!!!!

A moderate smoker who smokes 5 cigarettes a day in office previously would still smoke 5 cigareets a day becoz the heavy smokers need company on their long walk..
They too will walk 4 km a day!!!!!

Over a month of 20 working days, they would have walk 80km!!!
While...yours truely, the non smoker sits in office all day long..

Maybe smoking does has its perks.

Not long ago,
I came up with a intention to do a series of photos.. i.e like cars, trees...people, expressions...etc

But after not long, i realise that it was difficult to build up this series of photos..

Hey.. Imagine if it was 'Cars'
Would u be intrested in vios and sunnys??
Or how about expressions?
I think i'll get punched if i catch someone on the wrong day..

I was on the verge of giving up when the most wonderful of all ideas struck me..
I'll take clouds.. the sky... HAhaha.. It darn easy since i have windows in my house and i need not travel anywhere. All i have to do is do snap shots out of the window..

In fact, i have a very comprehensive collection of 'cloudy' photos now.. I just haven gotten around sorting them and PS-ing them.

2 hours ago, i stumble on the following... "SHARE THE BEAUTIFUL SKIES" Competition..

http://www.mindef.gov.sg/rsaf/40years/

I decided to submit the first photo i took for the series..

Photobucket

I think im destined to win this...
I hope the chicken intestine photographer dont take part in this competition.. He might just be lucky enough to catch some flying chicken and win the competition as a result...
Darn..

Thousands throng showflats at Park Central@AMK
By Wong Siew Ying, Channel NewsAsia Posted: 23 July 2008 1915 hrs

"The four 30-storey blocks will house four- and five-room units, priced between S$433,000 and S$689,000 or about S$500 per square foot. "

Let the good times roll!
$689000 for a 5 room flat.
There used to be a time...not too long ago when my parents brought my current 5 room flat for $83000 on a $2500 paycheque per month.

Nowadays, its not uncommon to earn $5000 per month.. and since everyone is feeling really rich, coupled with the usual inflationary excuses reasons, i guess its alrite to expect that flats would also cost more than what my parents paid back then.

Lets see..
My Parents' income - $2500
My 5 room Flat - $83000
83000/2500 = 33.2 times of my parent's pay.

Now..
silly The rich and young - $5000
Lets multiply this by 2... since i would expect both individuals to work.. its an equal world now... I would be surprise if my wife works while i stay home next time..
The rich and young Couple's income - $10000!!
New 5 room flat - $689000
689000 / 10000 = 68.9 times of rich couple's pay!

In reality.. How many families in singapore earn a combined income of $10000 per month??
During the last family income survey, the median amount earned by each family is $3830..
$3830 income? $689000 5 room flat?? it just doesnt add up.

And really, im beginning to suspect my parents are very smart people ... In fact, i think they are only second to the people who are building these AMK flats... or wait... how about the people who proposed building such flats? or about the organisation that made everyone believe that these $689000 flats are the way forward..

Oh well... we are too smart for our own good.

Smart Parent's Son.

Incoherent statements...

He said: "In countries like Norway, when patients have kidney failure, the doctors will straightaway ask, which family member is going to donate (their kidney). And you see the whole family putting up their hands - grandmothers, grandfathers, grandchildren - everyone offers (their kidney). In the case of Singapore, I asked our doctors, (and they said) first, not many put up their hands. And, (among) the few families that do put up their hands, very few family members put up their hands." - CNA website

Football: Brazilian Olympic football team to play friendly against Singapore
By Margaret Perry, Channel NewsAsia
Posted: 20 July 2008 1904 hrs

Omg omg omg...
Im so excited. 5 time world champs are coming to Singapore! And they are playing our national team...no less!!

Singapore soccer team is definately going places with this string of international... Previously, they had some decent games during the World Cup qualifiers. =)

The only let down would be if..

1) They play at National Stadium again..
It was suppose to be torn down 3 years ago... I cannot remember how many times they have held another 'last match' there. Its really getting irritating if they keep trying to garner ticket sales with this 'last match' tactic.

2) The prices of tickets are inflationary high..
Yesyes... Despite being World Champion 5 times over, this team that is coming to Singapore is their Olympic team. You can most prob name like 3 members of this team and would struggle to even put a face to the rest... They would provide good match practice and experience but not at the expenses of fans. I say ticket prices between $10 to $15 dollars would be ideal to get a 3/4 filled stadium.
Anymore...errrmm...be prepared to play to a limping kallang roar then.

Come to think of it...if this Brazil team is coming to Singapore becoz they need warm up and training in our hot and humid climate.. Shouldnt they pay us to host them instead of the other way around?!?!?!?

I really hope they telecast this match live on TV. hahaha...

I have a mouth full of ulcers.

Nope, i didnt contacted STD. I just had too much durians.
Might as well since durians are sooooo cheap nowadays. Okie, if u belong to those who have no preferences for the type of durians you eat, it can get as cheap as 5cents per durian!!!!
How cool is that? For the record, im having those which cost $5 per pack. And those are fantastically good.

Now..the qns i like to ask is...

WHY ARE DURIANS SO CHEAP?

With inflation hitting sky high and everyone complaining about increased cost of living and high fuel prices... HOW CAN a durian cost 5cents when it has to be transported over from my dearest, most friendly neighbour, Malaysia??

Didnt they complained about the increased in prices for eggs, pork, veges and whatever else is due to the increased in fuel/transport charges???

In conclusion, durians are the best fuel saving devices you ever need in your car.
Want good fuel economy? Put a durian in your car.

I should give up reading the papers...

"The reality is that as cars try to avoid ERP, other roads get congested and more gantries are put up on arterial roads.
So really there is no avoiding ERP.
The Transport Minister said the alternative is to take public transport. "

Oh pls... thanks for finally acknowledging that ERP was never to ease traffic flow. Its to take cars off the road altogether.

First the screw up to allow the car population to balloon beyond control (or was it intentional??) and now, just casually commenting that public transport is the way forward without even due consideration for those who are stuck with 10 year loans.

This is such a ideal situation...

1) Road Tax is a fixed income.. drive or no drive, motorists would have to pay.
2) Petrol Tax is a fixed income.. More car...more petrol needed.
3) ERP is additional auxillary income.. Nevermind the number of drivers affected by ERP. Should it falls below expectation, just raise it upwards...heavy traffic is intangible anyway (i.e ERP on BKE? Poor design vs Real congestion)
4) Lastly...now that we have many cars on the road...lets boost the Bus population on the road... by promoting public transport.

Irresponsible talk is so cheap nowadays.

I found the following very disturbing when this was broadcast over the radio this morning..

"If you allow trading, currently those who volunteer for the family members or under HOTA, they may then object and say, 'since you can now buy organs, then why should I volunteer to save my family members?"

To tell u the truth, I hate my brother and his guts. Hes most prob the most inconsiderate person in the world... Sometimes, i wished my mum never gave birth to him... hahha..
But *touch wood*, if he ever needs my kidney, he can have it...no questions asked.

Im not sure how anyone in the right frame of mind can choose to sell their organs to someone else and not save their family members in times of needs.

The Bad news...

I didnt win the UOB Painting of the Year Contest.
This year's winning entry was a photo by a certain very 'promising' photographer. In fact, you can view his painting at the following very good website.
http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/singaporelocalnews/view/359959/1/.html\

The Good news...

I have done a AAR which incidentally means 'After Action Review' of my own entry and now agree that my entry lacks depth, creativity and a touch of sophistication.

In line with my own recommendations, i have immediately set about creating next year's winning entry.
And im glad to inform all my readers that... i might just have a gem on hand.

This was taken yesterday morning after refilling about 38L of fuel into my car.
Im entering myself in this year's Fuel challenge..
With alittle twitching, i think i can increase my mileage by another 50%. No kidding.

And some of us might wonder why i still complain about the high fuel prices with my car..

Well, its simple..
I used to spend at most $150 per month on fuel. Nowadays, its close to $250.
Got money also not like that spend.

Football: Fergie's righthand man Queiroz takes charge of Portugal
Posted: 12 July 2008 0259 hrs

Our dearest Fregie has done it again. In a tactical move, he convinced Queiroz to take over Portugal's young and talented squad. With this move,

1) Ronaldo would wanna risk going to REAL and never play for the national team again.

2) Portugal has effectively become a satellite training ground/fishing ground for all future Man U imports.

Omg... Hahaha =p

Yesyes, its amazing how my twisted mind can come up with these ideals and conspiracy theories.

Okoki, i figure it out liao.

Next year... i will not be overwhelmed. From the time i got home 5 hours ago, i have been formulating my strategy for next year.

And im very proud to say that i've come up with the following.

1) My entry would be very very big. It will be in Poster size. Note those ads u see at bus-stops?? It will be bigger than that....at least.

2) I will stand at the lobby from morning till dusk. WHY? Simply because i wanna play mind games with the rest of the contestants. HAhaha.. Overwhelm them. Hmmm...u and ur puny entry.

3) Start to sniggle at them when they walk past me. In fact, i will station myself at the entrance of the lift. Hahaha... and perhapes block the entrance of the lift. That way, if someone with another of those huge entry comes along and wanna use the lift, i would not allot him/her to do it. Hopefully, this would discourage her enough to NOT take part in the competition.

Regards
Still very smart.

I have got some really great shots of the Black Knights yesterday but i aint going to post those. In fact, to keep my avid readers in suspense, im going to give a little teaser.

I caught Black Knights with their spare aircraft and counterparts flying in formation. U guys know how important this NDP is and there are about 2 million layers of contingencies... and having 2 dozen of Black knights is just one of them. And u guys thought there were only 6... hahaha..

But thats really story for another day...

Let me share with you my very humbling experience today. I woke up this morning... and stumbled upon this

http://www.uob.com.sg/pages/promotions/promo_poy2008.html

Being very inspirational this morning, i decided to dig through my 2 million snapshots and to find something suitable enough to win take part in the contest.

As such, i began a routine of half watching LOST season 1 and fiddling with my Photoshop CS 2.
By 11am, i was all ready to submit this year's winning entry my entry. But to get some assurances, i started getting my frends who were online on a sunday morning to give their assessment on the photo.
Sadly, the comments were..
"Thats not a photo, theres too much photoshop."
"Its not capturing my attention"
"I prefer it to be in lighter shade"

After hearing all their comments while watching my LOST stream on my other window, i concluded that my frends are idiots and that my photo is good enough for submission.. I mean, what do these people know?? Ther PC most prob dont even have enough resources to run up CS2. Humph...

So this routine of my watching LOST and preparing my photo for submission continued till about 4pm in the afternoon. I took so long becoz LOST was really addictive i needed to make sure that my photo will be perfect to capture the attention of the judges. I am...afterall, a budding photography talent. Hahaha...

And so...off i went to NAFA to submit my photo.

BAD mistake x 1
While climbing the steps leading to level 2, which incidentally is the submission hall, i encountered hordes of people who struggled to bring their entries into the hall. Yes....their entries were like as huge as themselves.... OMG.

And there i was, with my newly printed 8R photo (MY Largest print to date) on a white cardboard (it was on a cardboard becoz the contest demanded so..). My contest entry form was bigger than my entry!!! =(

Holy cow... i contemplated to leave the hall but decided against it. I spent a total of $15 to put my winning entry together and there was no way i was leaving without even submitting it.

And so off i went to find my submission counter...

BAD Mistake x 2

There was like 2 ladies manning the submission booth. While one of them attended to me...the other passed the comment..

Lady 2: "Hey, u all accept entries with any kind of backing isit"
Lady 1: "Yeah."

Life totally sucks... im quitting photography.

And since i doubt im going to win becoz even auntie didnt bother to look beyond the backing.... heres my submission. =( Pls keep unfavourable comments to yourself. I cant take another one.
