Dear all,

Im troubled.

Im having a particular difficult time at work..
I have been undergoing a training module for the past year and i cant seem to grasp the essence of the entire module.
In fact, it has gotten to that stage where i have my assessor asking me whether i wanna continue training on that particular module.
I told him that i'll try my best and he should be impartial in assessing me.

"SM Goh upbeat about Singapore's economy in 2008
By Dominique Loh, Channel NewsAsia Posted: 27 January 2008 1827 hrs

SINGAPORE : Singapore's economy should be on track with the government's growth forecast of 4.5 percent, says Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong.
.

.
.
With a transport system emphasising on serving the public, residents can look forward to easier access to the rest of Singapore.

But Mr Goh had a concern: "The difficult part is vehicular population growth. We can see year after year, there's more and more cars on the road. Coming to Marine Parade takes a longer time than before. So we are putting emphasis on the public transport system.

The Ministry will make its policy announcement on car ownership next week. "

Dear all,

1) I would like to make a revision. I now see our equities market shooting all the way till 8000 points from the current 3000 points.
The good times are here again..

2) No more emphasis on controlling the growth of cars because it failed miserably, 100K COE was a laughing stock for every world leaders during international forums, the emphasis is now... controlling the usage of your cars and the poorly designedroad you use!

The difference between an entitlement and a privilege is but a perception.

RSAF jets scramble to intercept civilian aircraft
Airspace shut down for 50 minutes after plane heads here without approved flight plan
By Teh Joo Lin & David Boey

SINGAPORE'S airspace was shut down temporarily last night when two air force F16 jets were scrambled to intercept a civilian plane heading here without an approved flight plan.
.
.
.
Aviation experts said that following the Sept 11, 2001, attacks, the RSAF operates an enhanced air defence against airborne terrorist threats, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Air forces the world over have been wary of copycat attacks by terrorists commandeering planes as 'guided missiles'.

Colonel Lim said: 'The RSAF continues to maintain a high state of readiness.' "

Well done RSAF!
It must be tough to operate like 7-11. 24/7.
I hope the Singapore Govt decides to pay these good people working 24/7 a good sum of bonus this year.
Afterall, i think its definately painful to

1) Come back on weekends to watch over Spore.
2) Stay up at 3am in the morning to watch over Spore.

I can go to sleep peacefully tonite becoz i know RSAF is providing 'enhanced air defence against airborne terrorist threats'...

Waaaaaaoooo.........

Hopeful.

"Title: Singapore shares plunge 6.03% on fears of US recession
Date: 21 Jan 2008 1732 hrs (GMT + 8hrs)

SINGAPORE - Singapore share prices closed 6.03 percent lower on Monday after sharp falls on regional markets as investors continued to fear the worst for the US economy, dealers said.
The blue-chip Straits Times Index dived 187.10 points to 2,917.15, falling below the psychologically important 3,000-point level to a five-month low.
Volume was 2.15 billion shares worth S$2.38 billion. Losers led gainers 711 to 153, with 899 stocks unchanged."

Hee hee hee....
If the 'Get Rich' books were to be believed, i think its time we enter and make a few million out of this current 'correction'.

Hmmm... I hope i get a big bonus this year.

Im still searching for the application form for 'THE AMAZING RACE'.

Post no. 268

Dear all,

I've been wanting to post this for the longest time....but due to my part time daytime job, i never really got around to it.

Well, i mean, i have to contemplate at the same time, with Kane and Scrin. Both of them get a kick out of whacking my GDIs...

And then, there is 黄金路....who is really taking up too much of my time becoz they show it at some lousy 9pm timing. Its like immediately after dinner, i would have to hype myself up and hurried myself to finish all my stuff before i can ponk myself infront of TV to watch it.. Its just too good a show to miss...

But...since im off this morning...i should tackle something that many of us hold close to our heart.

HOW TO MAKE MORE MONEY?

Im no guru... but if you belong to any of the following...

1) Property gamblers Investors
2) Equities gamblers Investors, this group includes all those Forex traders. God knows what they do...
3) Idiots Investment link insurance policy holders

I say its time to relook at your investment choices. I offer the following options..

1) POSB. My Saving Account
1.5% PA for a 1.5K deposit every month.

2) Maybank. ISavvy Account
2% PA for a 50K n abv deposit

3) SingFinance
2% PA for 100K n abv if you lock it in for 36mths.

When the knifes falls over, alot of people will be cut. Some of us will bleed to death while some will live to tell the tale.

Alternatively...
You can try any of the following...

Photobucket
I wonder if they still play this...but u have to be very smart to win. Im not smart soo...

Photobucket
Again, another smart ass game. I doubt i'll win alot of money.

Photobucket
Omg... swim with snakes and eat tofu out of a bowl of worms... I'll pass too...

Photobucket
Hey...this is all the rage now. With babes to ogle...Hmm...this one is for serious consideration.

Photobucket
TADA! This is something i really want to join.

Many people join with their best friends, gay partners and even girlfriends. But during the course of the show, somehow, they will definately fall out with each other due to disagreement over certain decisions..

I believe i have found the perfect way to win the race. I'll join with my most hated friends... That way, we will be caught up wth out-doing each other and tauting each other, we might just come out first over each leg of the race..

I feel so smart sometimes..

Smarty Pants.

54% of drivers don't pass through ERP gantries on the way to work
By Maria Almenoar

EACH time the tolls on Singapore's roads rise, a chorus of complaints sounds from drivers across the island.

But the reality is that less than half of all motorists pass through Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) gantries on their way to work.

A Singapore Press Holdings survey of 295 motorists found that 46 per cent fork out money for the privilege of driving on the island's roads.

Of those, about 70 per cent pay $3 or less every morning.

The survey was done over three days in mid-November, about two weeks after ERP rates were raised by 50 cents.

That brought tolls on the Central Expressway from the Pan Island Expressway to $5 between 8.30 and 9am - making it Singapore's costliest road.
"

Came across the above while surfing net for my daily dose of news..

When i was in poly.. my teacher taught me that for any survey to be meaningful, the following should be adhere to as closely as possible..

1) the sample size should be large enough.
2) the demographic of the sample size should be resemble the survey targetted audience as closely as possible.
3) the purpose and intent of the survey must 'highly visible' from the onset.

After reading the article, I wish my teacher taught everyone how to do a proper survey..

Post No. 265

Dear all.

9pm to 10pm each day is like a block out period.
Why?
Because 黄金路 is a darn good show.

The lyrics to the song..

Singer :迷路兵
Title :

Oh well, im hooked. I certainly hope it wins lots and lots of awards. Li NanXing is just too suited for these type of shows. =) I hope he wins the 'Best Actor' for his role.

Its the weekend!! N im ready to pamper myself. Yipppeee...

Post no. 262

Dear all,

Im going into shock.

2 weeks ago, i attended a wedding that was put together in a matter of 2 months.
I almost choked on my shark fin when i heard that. Subsequently, i was told that 'with money, anything is possible'.

Yesterday, i recieve a call from my primary school friend. Here are extracts from the conversation..

JH : ME, are you free on 31st Jan?

ME : Should be. Why? Coming back to Spore? Wanna meet up?

JH : Nope, i just settled with my gf's parents on the bridal gifts and dowry. So i was thinking of asking you to be my brothers during the wedding at the end of this month..

ME : End of this month?

Hmmm.... i grew up believing that all marriages prep requires at least 1 year. In fact, i know of some friends who told me that they are planning to get married in 2009...... back in 2005. Thus, the recent events have caught me flatfooted.

In 2006, i had 13 weddings.. and last year, i have 5. With the new trend, i would be surprise if i end the year with 37 weddings...

Oh well, im not really complaining. Attending friend's wedding are joyous occasions and the closer i am to that friend, the more i will enjoy that particular wedding. =)

More later, need to recover from my shock...

Regards
Brother again..

Post No. 260

In recent months, I've spent countless hours on facebook.

Not to view the pretty photos of my friends.. or to find long lost pretty female friends.
For the record, i think its a stupid idea to keep in touch via Facebooks and Friendsters...nevertheless, i digress..

Anyway, the reason why i've been spending so much time on Facebook is becoz of mindjolt games.
hahaha...yes, im hooked. And i get a kick out of beating my friend's highscore.

Check out the roll of honour.. =p

Photobucket

Hahahaha.....Now to beat the shroom highscore..

Post no. 258

In recent weeks, I've been on a mission to accompany a female friend of mine.

Shes been feeling down because of a certain premonition my friends and i tried to advise her earlier.

Now shes feeling down becoz her ex-boyfriend left her.

ALL GUYS are bastards.......she proclaimed.

But we ought to know better. Before long, she will be freed from these lousy lonely helpless feeling. Its a passing phase in life.... Meet the wrong guy, get ur heart broken and then you move on.

Its a vicious cycle that goes on till you meet the right one. Till then, bite the bullet and bear the pain. We'll all definately see better days. Depending on what kind of a person you are, you experiences will differ.

1) Some will most prob be crushed and be bittered by the experiences. In the anxiety to find the right one, they relentlessly try out different partners. Some boosting double digits 'true love' encounters within a short span of a couple of years. By the time they find 'The one', they are left with nothing but the skeleton of their old self.

I pity not them but the final 'true love' they find. if its still called that...

2) Some will just grow smarter after the humbling experience and eventually find their true love after single digit 'true love' encounters.

I wish them well.... this usually happens during my mum's generation and is considered old fashion but really, i would like to belong to this category.

3) Many others in today's society (Gen Y)...... would just like sex. If the sex is good, its most prob true love. They'll take their chances... afterall, having good sex is most prob more satisfying than a hot bowl of soup when they have flu or after a tired day at work.

I envy these people. Not for the good sex. But for their plain ignorance. Ignorance is bliss..eh?

Oh well...true love aint easy to come by nowadays..*

On the bright side, I've made light work of the situation.. =)

Deciding to kill 2 birds with 1 stone, i told the guys to meet for 'Chong Qing' Steamboat. Really, i suck at comforting people so since i most prob do a lousy job, i decided to find something that i enjoy doing.. EAT.

Photobucket

Oh well.... This is as neat as it will get. Everything nice and proper. Check out the number of crabsticks we took.

Photobucket

Let the cooking begin... The bottom right hand quadrant belongs to me. Hahaha...

Photobucket

Mid way through the dinner... suddenly..

Photobucket

A prawn tries to escape the gripping jaws of the boiling soup..

Photobucket

Theres really no escape. The prawn is now being pressed down by the soup spoon.

Photobucket

Cindy with her egg...brought from home. Im not sure whats shes trying to do..

Photobucket

Now i know.. =(
Im not sure if the uncle and aunties would be too happy to see this.

Photobucket

Windy isnt very happy..

Photobucket

Thats becoz he ate too much...

Photobucket

Its interesting how a steamboat dinner can degenerate into something so sinful...

Photobucket

What happen to my clear soup?

Photobucket

On the way out, i saw a poster on how it was to be. We obviously aint very good with this steamboat thingy..

Photobucket

Tried our hands at dessert.

Photobucket

My Honeydew Sago!! Yippeee...

Photobucket

After a very fulfilling dinner...im obviously too full to think straight...

Photobucket

End of dinner. Need to go find my true love. =p

Photobucket

I wonder who she's talking to...
hahaha...

More later.
I need to welcome 2008. Yipppeeee........
