I used to say to my friends
"Xing tong bu Ru Xing tong"
In essence, it means its better to take action than to just have thoughts of it.
I said it because i have too many friends who sits around all day long dreaming of what could have been. Im not much better but i figured i put more thoughts into action than most of them combined..
The purpose of this post is because a friend of mine got into an accident recently and until i saw him yesterday, i didnt realise the gravity of the accident. He could have died.
And so while i was driving home yesterday, i wonder if i were to get into an accident and died.... would i die with regrets?

Maybe i didnt make myself clear... I really mean
1) Treasure you life by not doing silly things.
2) Treasure your family members before they leave you. They can leave you for a variety of reasons which may include finding their life long partner of just by dying. Either way, you would not feature much in their life anymore.
3) Treasure your friends. If you keep putting off that outing.. by the time you got around organising it, your friend might not be around anymore.

Its been 2 days since i last ate any decent food.
I struggled through 2 x breakfast of bread and coffee, skipped lunch yesterday because it was so bloody painful, swallow porridge for dinner yesterday and also for lunch and dinner today. I think i might just lose some wgt by the end of this ordeal.
I also learned that front tooth are never meant to chew. Despite my best attempts, i end up throwing away lots of meat that mama cooked because i simply cant swallow them.
Its going to be awhile before i even get to eat any proper meals. Sigh... I hope daniel is having a better time in NUH than me. hahaha...

Ouch.. i woke up to more pain this morning. The antibiotics and pain killers obviously isnt working.
2 mins ago, i called back office to check my schedule and found my dearest best friend, (lets call him soulman to protect his identity) to be the planner today. Strangely, i have a new found conviction to call in sick because i know he will be able to resolve any situation.

Just visited the dentist... spent another $98 and gotten the same antibotics and swelling med. Knn..
Apparently, the diagnosis is acute yabayaba.. I think he was trying to impress me with his strong command of medical terms but in layman terms, its just an infection brought about by my wisdom tooth. Apparently, the tissues around the tooth are all swelling and if i didnt get them cleaned, i can expect to have pus over the next few days..
During the 30mins he spent cleaning out the area, he keep mentioning that its a good practice to visit the dentist every 6 months to ensure that these problems do not develop into something sinister.
The sad truth is that my last visit to the dentist was 3 months back.. =(
I didnt wanna argue because im in so much pain and i figured he would have shot me back with 'You cant even brush your teeth properly?!'
Sigh.. Im off to bed.

I have a confession to make.
My last set of tyres on my car lasted me 61000km. Why is this a confession?
Because most drivers change their tyres after 40000km.
But because im such a skillful driver, i was able to avert all mishaps. I finally got around changing them recently.
I wanna race that BMW Z4..

I cannot imagine how it took so long for my dearest, very well supported govt to realise that this country is bursting at its reams.
While the man on the street has his personal space invaded by a coalition of foreign imports, the VIPS and VVIPs of this country continue to enjoy their personal spaces at close door events.
In fact, the word on the street is that Dr Ng was recently caught in heavy traffic while making his way to parliament using the CTE viaduct. He was in fact late and got a good rub down from the rest of the ministers for delaying their subsequent hightea and golf game.
The above incident was enough to swing the ministers into action and start massaging messages like the ones on CNA across to the public.
Oh well, its all hearsay...im really not very sure. Lets hope it triggers a re-think on the way this country is run.

I finally realise why my boss is so uptight about booboos...
He came to work in a brand new BMW Z4 today.
If you happen to chance upon the BMW website (Performance Motors), you would find that Z4 is the flagship BMW model. Just to give you a feel on how expensive it is... your Shenton yuppie would most prob be able to afford a 3 series, the ugly but very rich wife of a very successful businessman would drive a 5 series, your contractor who renovated your place for 40K would meet you in his 7 series...
All these models except the 745i (most likely) would cost significantly lesser than the Z4 which in my own estimate cost about 250K...at least.
I guess...boss cant afford to have less than 6 months of bonus next year.
Me...on the other hand, drives a vios. Guess i can screw up for the next decade and still afford the car.

Just reviewed my work schedule for the rest of the month and strangely, it looks vastly different from the one i was initially planned for.
Someone, somewhere must have thought that i have jollyed for the past 2 weeks and now its time to pay back.
This is akin to someone who is away for holidays for 3 weeks...
if the requirement is to do 2 weekend duties amonth, does it mean that he will have to fulfill his duty requirements over the span of the remaining week?
i spent some time wondering if i should highlight the issue.. but figured i'll just be muffled into the background as usual.
A friend and a would be neighbour of mine shared the following with me the other day...
Leadership is solving problems. The day soldiers stop bringing you their problems is the day you have stopped leading them. They have either lost confidence that you can help or concluded you do not care. Either case is a failure of leadership - Colin Powell.
Till the day when i can make the difference...

Instead of feeling proud, i really should be ashame of myself.
The auditors concluded 3 days of audit yesterday and did not have a single finding for the item that i was handling..
The only plausible reason that i can think of is that im really good at lying and forging.
For 2 months, i forged documents all day long.. i forged during weekends... i forged them during my leave.
And for 3 days earlier this week, i lied to the auditors...constantly. I had a reason for everything and everyone.
So when the initial debrief came out... it took the auditors 20 secs to sum up my item.
I hope this goes some way alleviating my boss's dislike for me. (i had an opportunity to look at him from a high point of view yesterday and i saw him crouching in one corner... hes most prob ashame of my presentation.. *ashame is a culture that runs in my workplace but thats another story for another day)
Alrite, im off to serve my nation. I wont lie for at least another year. =)
